Nadine Donalds married June 9, 2007

Nadine Donalds is our featured bride and was married on June 9, 2007 in Boston, MA.

Below is her complete list of "been there done that" wedding planning advice and tips.

We decided to add Nadine's Highlight video to our video gallery at: http://www.ftpweddings.com/wedding_videos.asp

So for my wedding tips to fellow brides:

1.  Start and stay organized during your months of planning.  Get yourself a big binder and categorize according to vendor i.e. caterer, flowers, dress, photographer etc.  I used clear pocket folders within each divider which comes in handy for clippings from magazines etc.  Get your spreadsheets mapped out early on to cover:  wedding guest list with addresses and e-mails; vendor details and expenses.  I found being able to go to each
spreadsheet and scan details also served as great to do lists helping me get everything done on an ongoing basis.  Remember organization equal less stress later!

2.  Talk to friends.  Most of my vendors came from referrals from my friends.  I did not shop around and do over the top
comparisons.  I found that with referrals from friends they were top notch recommendations.  Once you have the confidence, and in my case was usually from the first meeting, that your vendor is capable and in you're in good hands, you leave their job to them and you don't have to worry.

3.  Leave your fiance behind!  Seriously, if you know what you want and your partner trusts you, don't drag him with you for every vendor appointment. Things he wants to participate in great, like the band and the tasting for the caterer, otherwise give a guy a break!  He really does love you just as much even if he couldn't care less about the flowers!

4.  Think of your guests and making your event unique and special for them. Small conveniences go a long way.  Taking care of arrangements like transportation to and from the hotels, parking for the event and childcare -- these finer details ensure your guest will enjoy themselves to the fullest without worrying if they'll get a parking ticket!

5.  I got this advice all the days leading up to my wedding and I pass the same wisdom on to all you brides to be.  Make sure there are times throughout your day where you take it all in.  On your day, everything will play out as it will, so sit back and relax and have the time of you life.  Very seldom will you have a room full of all your closest family and friends, all there to honor you and your husband.  SO ENJOY!!  For me was the most special day of my life!
